…Jono recent production work includes the latest Vines record Sherlock’s Daughter, Last Dinosaurs and Cassette Kids.

After completing Media Arts and Production at the University of Technology Sydney, Jono Ma has quickly established a reputation as a world class sound designer, experimental film maker and music composer.

His short film ‘Earworm’ was shortlisted in the Japan-Australia film festival and won for best sound and best music at the Golden Eye Awards.

Whilst at University he promoted and performed at a night called ‘Disorientation’ that showcased extreme experimental audio/visual artists from all around the world including Thomas Brinkman (Germany), Terry Tamlitz (USA) and Australian electronic legends ‘the Severed Heads’.

Never completely abandoning his experimental and obscure backgrounds, Jono founded and produced electro-acoustic outfit ‘Soma for Kinder’, pioneered a new local genre referred to as ‘indie-tronica’ and joined the ‘Lost Valentinos’ as guitarist, keyboard player and programmer.

As a producer and engineer he has recently worked alongside esteemed producers such as Wayne Connolly (the Vines, Josh Pike, Youth Group), UK producer/DJ Ewan Pearson (the Rapture, Tracey Thorn, Chemical Brothers, Pet Shop Boys), Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun, Pnau) and Phillipe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix).
