ZOMBIE NATION - DJ SET (UKW records, Munich)
FASH, The Butter Factory
with DJs Dave Does & Inquisitive
The man behind ZN is Munich based producer and DJ, Florian Senfter, also known as Splank. Florian started to DJ in the mid 90s at warehouse parties and at underground art exhibitions that he initiated with his back then crew. Those were the days when acid was considered food and strobe light substituted for sunlight. Around that time he also got into producing his own tracks and in the spring of 1999, the first Zombie Nation 5 track E.P. was released on DJ Hell’s Gigolo Records.
Since that time Zombie Nation is on the map, releasing hits like Souls At Zero, Money Talks, Booster and the infamous Kernkraft 400 of course. Florian´s rougher persona shows with his side project, John Starlight, where he created songs like Blood Angels, Road Rage and Shadow Breaker ( just remember the brilliant Boys Noize remix of that one… ). And of course the successful studio collaboration with Tiga as ZZT that gave us the nerve wrecking “Lower State of Consciousness”, or more recently “The Worm” causing uncontrollable reactions on the dancefloor.
A brand new Zombie Nation Album “Zombielicious” released in march 09. While the 2 pre-album twelve inches “Forza” and “Worth It” are already on heavy rotation by DJ’s, the album sets another benchmark in the world of electronic music.
Also during the last months, Zombie Nation´s remix muscle has received a workout and soon you’ll be able to enjoy ZN remixes of The Presets, Adam Freeland and Kid Sister.
Driven by the passion to “create as many perfect moments as possible”, Florian has been playing shows from intimate clubs to huge festivals. For the past 2 years Florian is accompanied on tour by Buelent Kullukcu who is filming his every move with a camera. They haven´t set a deadline for their long-term documentary yet, but the material so far is promising. The idea behind the art project is to highlight the ups and downs of someone who jumps in and out of parties all around the world, meeting people and facing situations at strobelight speed.
